GTM Qualification Checklist

The pages in the Emergency Services dropdown menu explain what you need to complete your GTM qualification(s). 
This will earn the GTM badges: a silver pin for your blues and a navy-and-silver embroidered patch for your ABUs.
Order these from Vanguard after you are approved for the qualification.

 

  • Ground Team Member Level 3 (GTM3) is the first, basic level.
    This will earn the GTM Basic badges above.
  • Ground Team Member Level 2 (GTM2) adds more advanced tasks.
    No new badges here.
  • Ground Team Member Level 1 (GTM1) requires the ability to lead.
    This earns the GTM Senior badges (has a star above the wreath).
  • Ground Team Leader (GTL)--must be age 18+.
    This earns the GTM Master badges (has a star inside a circle above the wreath).

Checklist: Things you Need to Do or Have

These are required to earn the qualification, but not all of these are required to participate in training!
Check with the host as it depends on the type and duration of the exercise.

 Achievement 1 (cadet Curry) or Level 1 (senior members)

 CAP 116 GES (in AXIS)

 24- and/or 72-hour pack

 Ground & Urban Direction Finding Team Tasks book, a.k.a. "Ground Team Member's Handbook"/"green book"

 SQTR worksheets for the GTM/UDF level you're working on

 Commander approvals for various tasks on GTM and UDF SQTR's

 ICUT to use radios

 First Aid course

 CAP 117 course series (in AXIS)

 FEMA IS-100 course

 FEMA IS-700 course

 Printed 101 Card (with photo)
