101 Card

How to Obtain and Print Your 101 Card

The CAP Form 101, commonly referred to as a 101 Card, is your ticket into CAP Emergency Services. The 101 Card lists your current specialties with their expiration dates. This card shows mission staff at a glance what you are qualified to do when you sign in for a mission and is required before you can begin any hands-on training in Emergency Services. Your 101 Card and your CAP ID must be carried on your person when participating in Emergency Services Search and Rescue training exercises.

To obtain a 101 Card, you will need:

  • Current CAP Membership Card
  • Minimum grade
    • Cadets: Curry Achievement (C/Amn) completed
    • Seniors: SM with Level 1 completed
  • CAP Test 116 (aka General ES or GES) passed
  • Although not required to begin training, it is highly recommended that you complete CAP Tests 117 (Parts 1-3) and the FEMA IS-100 and -700 tests.

Printing Your 101 Card

After you have completed the tests, you are eligible to begin training for further qualifications. Before you can participate in any training exercises, however, you will need to print a CAPF 101 (otherwise known as the 101 Card) by following the directions below:

  1. Login to eServices.
  2. Select Operations from the left hand menu and then choose the Operations Qualifications application.
  3. Select 101 Card from the Emergency Services section on the left.
  4. Personal Characteristics must be entered to obtain the card. The card is void if there are no personal characteristics provided (height, weight, eye color, hair color). To edit these, go to the upper right of your screen: My Account-->Characteristics.
  5. Photo. If you do not yet have a photo in the system, look for the link on the eServices 101 Card page to upload one.
Follow the instructions carefully, paying close attention to the CAP Photo Guidelines link.
Your photo must be approved by your unit commander before it will appear on your 101 Card.
  6. Print the card, cut it out, fold it in half, and carry it with your CAP ID card.
