Cadet Programs
Cadet Programs
Cadet Programs transforms youth into strong leaders and responsible citizens. Civil Air Patrol achieves this with a curriculum of leadership, aerospace, fitness, and character. The program follows a military model, emphasizing the Air Force core values.
At the Squadron level
During weekly meetings, cadets attend classroom activities discussing the topics above and more. They wear a uniform and participate in drill and ceremonies to strengthen their self-discipline and self-awareness. As cadets progress through the ranks, they have opportunities to take up roles where they lead and teach newer cadets. Eventually, cadets may have the opportunity to run the entire squadron, organizing the meetings and activities.
At the Wing level and above
The Wing in which the squadron is located can have large activities open to all the cadets from that state. They offer highly advanced training and education as well as the opportunity for cadets to build a community with other squadrons. Cadets also may serve as staff for these events, providing even more leadership experience. Events are also held at the National level.
